Body of Devashish Gorai Returned to Adityapur, Family Receives Support

Devashish Gorai, a 33-year-old Tata Steel employee from Manjhi Tola, Adityapur, passed away during his pilgrimage to Kedarnath.

JAMSHEDPUR – Devashish Gorai, a Tata Steel employee, died during his pilgrimage to Kedarnath. His body was returned to Adityapur on Tuesday.

Gorai’s funeral was attended by Tata Workers’ Union President Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu, along with departmental committee members Niranjan Kumar and Baiju Pandit.

They met with the bereaved family, offering condolences and support.

The family was visibly distraught, and the union assured them of all possible assistance.

Gorai left Jamshedpur on June 24 and reached Delhi on June 25. He arrived at the base camp in Sonprayag in the evening.

He visited Kedarnath on June 26 and descended on June 27.

He then reached Badrinath on June 28. On the morning of June 29, while preparing to visit Badrinath, Gorai felt unwell and decided to rest in the hotel.

When his companions returned, he seemed fine, but his condition deteriorated again as they moved towards Chokhta.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Doctors confirmed that a heart attack caused his death.

His body was sent for a postmortem before being transported back.

Sanjeev Choudhary Tunnu, President of the Tata Workers’ Union, stated, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Devashish. The union will provide all necessary support to his family during this difficult time."

The sudden death of Devashish has left his family and colleagues in shock.

His commitment to his work and community will be remembered by all who knew him.
