Minister Ramdas Soren Reviews Key Development Projects in Jugsalai

Soren vows to expedite work on a degree college in Jugsalai, focusing on completing delayed projects.

Minister Ramdas Soren discussed plans to establish a degree college in Jugsalai and reviewed key developmental issues on his visit to Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Newly appointed Higher Education Minister Ramdas Soren announced his commitment to advancing the proposal for a degree college in Jugsalai.

He revealed that the current status of the file will be thoroughly reviewed.

Soren made this statement while addressing the press at his residence in Ghorabandha on Saturday.

Upon his arrival in Jamshedpur after being sworn in as a minister in the Hemant Soren government, Soren was greeted with traditional celebrations at his Ghorabandha home.

Party workers and supporters welcomed him with drums, garlands, and by washing his feet as per local customs.

The minister emphasized his intent to make the most of his limited time, stating, "I have been given little time, but I will make the best use of it."

Soren mentioned that he has scheduled a review meeting with officials from the Water Resources and Education Departments.

The focus of this meeting will be on important projects and pending tasks that can be completed swiftly.

Addressing the lack of benefits from the Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project for the local population, Soren expressed his disappointment and promised to investigate the reasons behind this issue.

He also highlighted the need to evaluate the coordination between the state and central governments to address any shortcomings.

Warm Reception and Public Engagements

As the MLA from Ghatshila and now a minister, Ramdas Soren received a warm welcome from JMM party members upon his arrival in Jamshedpur.

Supporters gathered at the Dobo bridge to greet him, adorning him with flower garlands.

Soren first visited the memorial of Shaheed Nirmal Mahato in Kadma Uliyan, paying his respects by offering flowers.

From there, he headed to the district contact office in Sakchi, where he was once again welcomed by a large crowd of party leaders and supporters, who chanted slogans in his honor.

After interacting with the party members and expressing his gratitude, Soren visited the Birsa Munda Park near the Sakchi main roundabout.

He bowed in reverence before the statue of Birsa Munda, receiving accolades from the monument committee members.

Later, he returned to his residence in Ghorabandha, where a festive atmosphere awaited him.

Party workers and family members greeted him with fireworks and garlands.

Criticism of BJP’s Role in Tribal Displacement

During his visit, Soren launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of neglecting the development of Jharkhand’s tribal and native populations during its tenure in power.

He claimed that the BJP forced the indigenous people to migrate in search of livelihoods by displacing them from their lands.

Soren also dismissed the impact of former Chief Minister Champai Soren joining the BJP, stating that JMM remains strong and will fiercely challenge the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections.

"The BJP’s dream of dominating the Kolhan region will never come true," he asserted.
