Imam Bargahs Decorated as Moharram Begins
Moharram, a period of mourning, started in Jamshedpur on Sunday with various ceremonies.
JAMSHEDPUR – Moharram observances have commenced in the city, marked by the decoration of Imam Bargahs and the installation of alams (banners).
From Sunday evening, known as Chand Raat, majlis (gatherings) began in different areas.
In Sakchi, the Husaini Mission organized a Chand Raat majlis at the Imam Bargah behind the Straight Mile Road Tempo Stand.
The majlis was addressed by Maulana Zaki Haider Kararvi of Masjid-e-Umm-e-Khalil.
Munir Hasan of Husaini Mission stated, “The series of majlis will continue from Chand Raat until July 12, with mourning processions, noha khani (elegies), and sina zani (chest beating).”
In Zakir Nagar, Mango, morning majlis will be held daily at 10 AM during this period.
A majlis was also held at the Imam Bargah in Zakir Nagar on Chand Raat.
The community is actively participating in these observances, reflecting deep respect and remembrance for the sacrifices commemorated during Moharram.
The ceremonies are a blend of religious devotion and cultural tradition, emphasizing the significance of the events of Karbala.
