Anti-Drug Marathon Galvanizes Saraikela Youth

School children join officials in awareness run against substance abuse

State-wide campaign aims to create a drug-free society through education and enforcement.

SERAIKELA – Saraikela witnessed a spirited marathon on Wednesday as part of the state government’s intensified anti-drug campaign.

The event, stretching from ANAR 10+2 School to Birsa Munda Stadium, saw enthusiastic participation from students, officials, and public representatives.

SDO Sunil Kumar Prajapati addressed the gathering, emphasizing the far-reaching impacts of drug abuse.

"Our society will be truly drug-free when we’re fully aware of how addiction silently hollows out families, communities, and the nation," Prajapati stated.

The marathon culminated in a mass pledge against drug use, reinforcing the campaign’s message.

Participants were educated on the multifaceted consequences of substance abuse, including health deterioration and social issues.

Zila Parishad Chairperson Sonaram Bodra called for stringent action against drug peddlers to protect society.

"We urge citizens to share information about drug dealers so that law enforcement can effectively curb this menace," Bodra appealed.

The event highlighted the state government’s multi-pronged approach to combating drug abuse through awareness and enforcement.

Local authorities stressed the importance of community involvement in creating a drug-free environment.

Students expressed their commitment to staying drug-free and spreading awareness among peers.

The marathon served as a visible demonstration of Saraikela’s united front against substance abuse.

Officials praised the enthusiasm of young participants, seeing it as a positive sign for the campaign’s future success.

This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s directives to prioritize drug prevention across Jharkhand.
