Illegal Mahua Liquor Factory Demolished, 700 Kg Java Mahua Destroyed in Seraikela Kharsawan
Seraikela Kharsawan Excise Department crushes illegal liquor operations, demolishes three furnaces, destroys 700 kg Java Mahua and seizes 45 liters of liquor in Balidih village.
SERAIKELA – In a decisive action against the illegal liquor industry, the Seraikela Kharsawan District Excise Department, on the basis of secret intel, took down three unlawful Mahua liquor furnaces operating along the river bank in Balidih village under the jurisdiction of Chowka police station.
In the process, approximately 700 kg of Java Mahua was destroyed on the spot and around 45 liters of Mahua liquor was confiscated.
The trio of furnaces were reportedly run by notorious liquor barons Doman Singh Munda, Buddheshwar Majhi, and Thakur Majhi.
The individuals managed to escape from the scene as soon as they got wind of the impending raid.
Currently, proceedings are underway to declare them absconding while raids are being conducted in their possible hideouts.
Product Inspector Nirbhay Kumar Sinha, sharing information about the operation, expressed that a sustained campaign is being waged against the illicit liquor mafia within the district.
He affirmed that this raid forms part of that initiative and asserted that the crackdown will continue unabated in the future.
