RAJNAGAR – Residents of Rajnagar in Saraikela district successfully foiled a goat theft attempt on Thursday, apprehending two suspects and recovering four stolen animals.
The incident unfolded when two young men, reportedly from Dimna Road No. 4, were fleeing with stolen goats in a Hyundai i10 car from the direction of Chaibasa.
Alert villagers noticed the suspicious activity and quickly spread the word to nearby communities.
As the vehicle approached Kesar Gadhiya, locals pelted it with stones, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a tree.
The quick-thinking villagers immediately surrounded and detained the suspects, identified as Ashif and Tahbid.
Rajnagar police were promptly informed and arrived at the scene to take the accused into custody.
Four goats were rescued from the thieves’ possession and have been recovered by the authorities.
This incident highlights the effectiveness of community vigilance in rural areas against property crimes.
The swift action of the villagers prevented the theft and aided law enforcement in apprehending the suspects.
