Anti-Drug Campaign Concludes at Ghatshila College
World Drug Day event marks end of 8-day awareness drive
Officials praise student participation in promoting substance abuse prevention.
GHATSHILA – Ghatshila College wrapped up its 8-day anti-drug awareness campaign on World Drug Day, June 26.
The closing ceremony featured notable guests including:
– Dinesh Bauri, Secretary of Sub-divisional Legal Services Authority
– Sacchidanand Mahato, Sub-divisional Officer of Ghatshila
– Dr. Rajendra Bharati, Registrar of Kolhan University
SDO Mahato emphasized the importance of personal resolve in quitting substance abuse.
Chief Guest Bauri urged attendees to abstain from drugs for the benefit of the state and nation.
Dr. Bharati commended the college’s well-organized campaign, initiated by the state’s Higher Education Department.
The event recognized outstanding participants in various competitions:
– Poster making
– Slogan writing
– Quiz contests
– Speech competitions
– Essay writing
NCC cadets were honored for their active role in door-to-door awareness drives and public marches.
"This campaign demonstrates our commitment to creating a drug-free society," stated Dr. A.K. Chaudhary, Principal of Ghatshila College.
The program began with a traditional Santali welcome ceremony for the guests.
Dr. Sanjesh Tiwari coordinated the closing event, with Prof. Indal Paswan serving as master of ceremonies.
The campaign’s success highlights the college’s dedication to social issues and student engagement.
