Police and Gau Rakshaks Seize Eight Cattle in Adityapur Raid
Eight cattle were seized from a pickup van in a coordinated action by Adityapur police and Gau Rakshaks, driver escapes.
Adityapur police, in collaboration with Gau Rakshak Samiti members, recovered eight cattle loaded in a pickup van during an early morning raid on Friday.
ADITYAPUR – Adityapur police recovered eight cattle from a pickup van near RIT turn in Adityapur, acting on secret information.
The raid took place at around 4 AM with the involvement of active members of Gau Rakshak Samiti.
Upon approaching the white-colored pickup van (OD09E 7495), the driver managed to escape before police could apprehend him.
The police found eight cattle loaded in the van, which have been taken into custody and are currently kept at the Adityapur police station.
The pickup van had reportedly come from Odisha and was en route to Jamshedpur via Saraikela-Rajnagar.
This area has become a known route for cattle smuggling, prompting increased vigilance from authorities.
The coordinated action highlights the ongoing efforts to combat cattle smuggling in the region.
"We remain vigilant and committed to stopping illegal cattle smuggling activities," said a police officer from Adityapur police.
The police are continuing their investigation to locate and apprehend the driver.
