Weather Shift Brings Relief to Jharkhand, Rain and Thunderstorms Expected

Orange Alert Issued for Most Districts; Winds to Reach 40-50 km/h

Jharkhand, including Kolhan, experienced a shift in weather on Friday as clouds covered the skies since morning, bringing relief from the heat.

RANCHI – The weather has changed for the better in Jamshedpur and other adjoining areas. In fact, most parts of Jharkhand have seen the temperature go down considerably during the last few hours.

On Friday, the weather in Jharkhand, including Kolhan, underwent a change as clouds rolled in and covered the skies since morning. This brought a much-needed relief from the scorching heat.

By midday, Jamshedpur and the surrounding areas experienced a combination of sunny and shaded conditions.

In the morning, there were reports of a gentle drizzle in Jamshedpur and the surrounding areas.

There is a forecast for rain accompanied by thunderstorms in most districts, except for Chatra and Latehar. This has led to an orange alert being issued across the state.

Expect winds to blow at speeds of 40-50 km per hour.

On Friday, residents were grateful for a break from the scorching heat and oppressive humidity.

Several districts, such as Garhwa, Palamu, and Daltonganj, are still facing scorching heatwave conditions. Garhwa, in particular, reached a sweltering temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, temperatures in several districts like Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and West Singhbhum stayed below 40 degrees Celsius.

In Jamshedpur, the temperature ranged from a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius to a minimum of 27.8 degrees Celsius.

West Singhbhum experienced a temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius, while Saraikela had a temperature of 32.5 degrees. Baharagora recorded a temperature of 27.4 degrees, and Ranchi reached a temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius.

According to meteorologists, there will be rain and thunderstorms expected from June 1 to June 4.

On Saturday, a warning has been issued for most districts, with the exception of Garhwa and Palamu.

There will be rainfall in Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahebganj, East Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan on June 1 and 2.

During this period, we expect wind speeds to reach 40-50 km per hour.

Furthermore, there is a high chance of thunderstorms occurring in the northeastern areas, specifically Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, and Sahibganj, on June 3 and 4.
