RANCHI – Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel surrendered to Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday regarding a check bounce case filed against her. Following her surrender, the court directed Patel to physically appear again on June 21st.

The court had issued two warrants against Patel, the first one on April 6, 2023, and the second on April 20, 2023. The case dates back to 2017 when Ajay Kumar Singh, the proprietor of Lovely World Entertainment, met Patel during a program at Harmu Housing Colony. Singh alleges he transferred Rs 2.5 crore to Patel’s account for the production of a film named "Desi Magic".

When the film failed to materialize and his money was not returned, Singh filed a complaint in the lower court, accusing Patel of fraud. Patel reportedly issued a check to Singh when he demanded the return of his funds, which subsequently bounced.
