Jharkhand High Court Demands Affidavit on Illegal Constructions in JNAC Area

High Court Issues Ultimatum for Detailed Report on Demolished and Pending Demolitions

The Jharkhand High Court ordered a detailed affidavit on the status of illegal construction demolitions in JNAC Area, with a strict deadline.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent hearing, the Jharkhand High Court addressed the issue of illegal constructions in the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee jurisdiction, issuing a stern warning to officials.

The court demanded an affidavit detailing the number of buildings already demolished and those slated for demolition.

Officials were given a deadline until 4 pm to submit the report.

This urgency led to a scramble among officials to comply with the court’s orders.

The High Court emphasized that the Deputy Municipal Commissioner must submit the affidavit, or else face a mandatory physical appearance.

The next hearing on this case is scheduled for Friday in the Jharkhand High Court.

In response to the court’s directives, an affidavit was hastily filed by the JNAC.

The report indicated that parking lots of approximately ten buildings had been cleared and demolished.

It was also mentioned that about 28 more buildings have been identified for future action.

The court has decided to conduct daily hearings on this matter to ensure continuous monitoring.

This move underscores the judiciary’s firm stance on illegal constructions and its impact on urban planning.

Officials are now under pressure to expedite the demolition process and ensure compliance with legal norms.

The case highlights the ongoing challenges in regulating construction activities in growing urban areas like Jamshedpur.

The citizens of Jamshedpur and and stakeholders are keenly watching the developments, anticipating further actions from the authorities.
