JNAC Demolishes Illegal Shops in Sakchi Ahead of High Court Hearing
Three Shops in Sakchi Aam Bagan Demolished by JNAC for Map Deviations
The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) used JCBs to demolish three illegal shops in front of Alisons Apartment at Sakchi Aam Bagan on June 1, ahead of a High Court hearing regarding map deviations.
JAMSHEDPUR – The JNAC on Saturday took action to demolish three illegal shops in front of Alisons Apartment at Sakchi Aam Bagan.
This was done using JCBs as part of their efforts to address map deviations ahead of an upcoming High Court hearing.
The demolition occurred at 4 pm, focusing on structures that were in violation of building regulations.
The Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) needs to provide a response by the June 13 hearing.
The SDO has been closely examining buildings, particularly those that were previously identified by the JNAC, resulting in prompt responses to any violations that were observed.
On May 2, the JNAC took action against shops that were operating illegally in the basement of Ali Sons Apartment.
After conducting additional inspections, the SDO proceeded with a second phase of demolitions, focusing on the same location.
The most recent campaign involved the third operation, which unfortunately led to the demolition of three additional shops.
This legal action is a result of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that aims to tackle the issue of illegal constructions and deviations from approved maps.
Judges Rangan Mukhopadhyay and Deepak Roshan of the Jharkhand High Court have assigned the responsibility to Jamshedpur NAC to transform basement areas that were previously used for businesses into parking spaces.
Engineers MK Pradhan and Sanjay Singh oversaw the demolition campaign, emphasizing the continuous efforts to uphold urban planning regulations and legal compliance.
