Shops in Mangal Tower Basement Repurposed for Parking
Basement of Mangal Tower in Kadma Converted to Parking Lot Following Court Directive
Jamshedpur witnessed a significant change as the basement of Mangal Tower in Kadma, previously filled with shops and warehouses, was converted into a parking lot per a Jharkhand High Court directive.
JAMSHEDPUR – The basement of Mangal Tower in Kadma has been converted into a parking lot as per the directive of the Jharkhand High Court to rectify map discrepancies.
A team from Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee conducted the operation on Thursday without encountering any major opposition.
City Manager Joy Gudiya, along with engineers Prakash Sahu, Satyajit Mahato, and Sanjay Kumar, oversaw the operation.
The team started by clearing out a studio located in the basement of Holding Number 16, Kadma Shop Area.
Even though there were some difficulties with logistics, such as limited access for JCBs, the workers did a great job of efficiently taking apart the shop.
The High Court’s careful examination ensured that all rules were followed, and the area was cleared by midday.
The process was managed by local authorities, who had to deal with the presence of curious onlookers.
"This initiative is a positive step towards following urban planning norms," stated administration officials.
The conversion is anticipated to alleviate parking problems in the area, providing benefits for both residents and visitors.
