Sunil Gavaskar, legendary cricketer and Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust, recently visited the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – Sunil Gavaskar, legendary cricketer and Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust, recently visited the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Jamshedpur.
His visit highlighted the hospital’s dedication to providing free maternal and child healthcare services across Jharkhand.
Gavaskar toured the hospital, visiting wards, labs, the operation theatre, and the outpatient department, engaging with staff and beneficiaries.
His presence underscored his commitment to supporting humanitarian healthcare causes.
Since its inception in September 2022, the hospital has served over 13,000 ophthalmic and 15,000 obstetric outpatients, conducted 1,500 screenings, and facilitated 669 deliveries at no cost.
The hospital announced plans to introduce a screening service for congenital heart disease in children.
A key event was the launch of Project "NANHA SA DIL," in partnership with COAL INDIA Limited, focusing on children with Congenital Heart Defects.
Gavaskar and COAL India representatives inaugurated outreach vehicles and distributed advanced stethoscopes for pediatric heart screenings.
Expressing gratitude towards COAL India, Gavaskar emphasized the critical role of accessible healthcare in ensuring a healthy future for Jharkhand’s children.
Dr. C. Sreenivas, Chairman of the Trust, praised Gavaskar’s passionate advocacy for child health, referring to him as “The Little Loving Master.”
During the visit, Gavaskar presented “Gift of Life” Certificates to children who received heart surgeries and “Janmotsav” certificates to new mothers at the hospital.
He urged families to nurture values of compassion in their children, contributing to national development.
Gavaskar thanked all attendees for their support, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in advancing healthcare.
The visit ended with Gavaskar personally expressing his appreciation to the hospital’s supporters and staff.
