JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration has ordered closure of all schools from nursery to class 12 on January 5-6 following a cold wave warning from the India Meteorological Department.

Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi issued the order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. The directive applies to all government, minority, and private schools in Jamshedpur district. Teaching activities will remain suspended during this period.

However, schools with scheduled examinations can conduct tests at their discretion. The administration has directed all school managements to ensure strict compliance. They must follow the guidelines without deviation.

On the other hand, government schools will remain open on January 6 for staff members. Teachers and non-teaching staff must mark their attendance on eVV system. Moreover, they will complete non-academic administrative tasks during this period.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast severe cold conditions. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop significantly. In addition, a cold wave warning has been issued for the coming days.
