Empowerment and Leadership Skills Focus of YUVA’s Two-Day Camp

Youth Unity for Voluntary Action and Girls’ First Fund have successfully completed a leadership development camp in Potka, empowering local adolescent girls.

JAMSHEDPUR – Youth Unity for Voluntary Action and Girls’ First Fund have successfully completed a leadership development camp in Potka, empowering local adolescent girls.

The camp, designed to combat child marriage and empower young women, was filled with activities aimed at building leadership skills and awareness.

Participants learned through interactive methods such as drama and games, which helped in understanding complex issues like patriarchy and gender stereotypes.

Skills such as effective communication and problem-solving were emphasized, preparing the girls to advocate for their rights and address community issues.

The discussions facilitated at the camp aimed to foster leadership qualities among the girls, enabling them to identify and address social challenges.

Jyoti Hembram, the Project Coordinator, led the program which was expected to have a significant impact on participants’ ability to effect change in their communities.

By the end of the training, the participants were expected to be better equipped to lead initiatives against social issues such as child marriage within their communities.

The leadership camp not only aimed to empower the girls but also to ensure they recognized their own potential and rights, critical in their personal and community development.
