Ace Journalist Manindra Kumar Chaudhary Passes Away

Manindra Kumar Chaudhary, Renowned Former Journalist and Secretary to Raghubar Das, is no More.

Jamshedpur Mourns the Demise of Journalist and Political Advisor Manindra Kumar Chaudhary

JAMSHEDPUR – Manindra Kumar Chaudhary, a renowned former journalist and the personal secretary to the former Chief Minister and current Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das, has passed away.

His death was confirmed today, marking a significant loss in the fields of journalism and politics.

According to the information received, he passed away today at Tata Main Hospital. 

Choudhary was admitted to the hospital at 3:30 AM following a brain stroke and, despite critical condition, was initially placed on life support due to unavailability of beds in the CCU. 

He was later moved to the HDU at 7:45 AM. 

The medical team, closely monitoring his condition, faced challenges as Choudhary suffered two heart attacks between 1 and 2 PM, which further aggravated his situation. 

The doctors, recognizing the severity of his condition, called his family members to be by his side before he passed away at around 3 PM.

Chaudhary, a prominent figure in Jamshedpur, was instrumental in introducing an edition of the Aaj Hindi daily in the city, significantly impacting the local journalism landscape.

This initiative led to the formation of a new group of journalists and expanded the publication’s readership.

Chaudhary’s career evolved as he became a political advisor and press secretary to Raghubar Das.

He played a crucial role during Das’s tenure as Chief Minister and later as Governor, demonstrating his skills and dedication in these positions.

Known for his affable and helpful nature, Late Mr. Chaudhary was highly respected for his in-depth understanding of Jharkhand’s political scene, particularly in Jamshedpur.

His close association with Raghuvar Das began in 2000 when Das, after becoming an MLA for the second time, appointed Choudhary as his private secretary. 

Throughout Das’s various tenures, Choudhary was instrumental in managing the Jamshedpur office and addressing public and worker-related issues. 

Odisha Governor Raghuvar Das, expressing his deep sorrow, described Choudhary’s death as an irreparable loss.

His extensive network of personal and professional connections, built over decades in journalism, earned him high regard among his peers, including senior journalists.

As the personal secretary to Raghubar Das, Chaudhary was known for his effective handling of responsibilities and his sociable demeanor.

His wit, poetic flair, and clever aphorisms were well-known characteristics.

Chaudhary’s death is a significant loss, leaving behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and numerous friends and admirers.

Mr. Chaudhary’s elder son, Manoj Chaudhary, is also a senior journalist and has worked and written for a number of leading newspapers and journals.

The family, residing in Dev Nagar Baradwari, has said that Late Mr. Choudhary’s last rites will be performed tomorrow.
