JAMSHEDPUR – A late-night gunfire incident near a school in Adityapur’s Saldih locality left a 22-year-old youth critically injured after two rival groups clashed violently.

The shooting took place near Shrinath Public School in Saldih Basti. It was late Monday night when the two groups came to blows.

Rajveer Singh, 22, was struck by a bullet fired during the clash. He has been admitted to Tata Main Hospital, where his condition is said to be serious.

According to sources, the bullet was actually aimed at a person named Aashish. However, it hit Rajveer Singh instead.

The accused identified in the case is Shubham Sarkar. He is the son of a known criminal, Sanjay Sarkar.

Police reached the site shortly after receiving information about the firing incident. They immediately launched an investigation.
