Joint Task Force Recovers Over Rs 5 Lakh in Vehicle Check
During a coordinated operation by Galudih Police and the SST, a significant cash sum was discovered in a vehicle, leading to further investigations into its origins and intended use.
JAMSHEDPUR – A collaborative effort between the Galudih Police and the Static Surveillance Team (SST) on Tuesday evening resulted in the seizure of Rs 5 lakh 63 thousand 400 from a car in Dhalbhumgarh, sparking inquiries into the source and purpose of the funds.
The vehicle, a Maruti Swift, was occupied by five individuals at the time of the interception.
Kumar Indresh, the officer in charge at the police station, reported that the car’s occupants were unable to justify the possession of such a substantial amount of cash or provide any documentation to support its legitimacy.
Manan Mittha, a resident of Dhalbhumgarh and among those in the car, claimed the cash was related to his bakery business.
He stated the funds were being transported to pay the owner of a bakery in West Bengal, after collecting the amount from Dhalbhumgarh.
In compliance with legal protocols, the police have taken custody of the money and are proceeding with further actions to determine the legality of its transport and intended use.
This incident underscores the vigilance of law enforcement in monitoring the movement of large sums of money to prevent illegal transactions and ensure financial transparency.
