New cricket academy inaugurated in Mango alongside tribute to Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Memorial Trophy winners
The ‘Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy’ has officially opened in Mango, promising to be a new hub for cricket enthusiasts and aspiring talents in the region.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy, dedicated to nurturing young cricketers, was inaugurated on Sankosai Road No. 5 in Mango, heralding a new era for sports development.
The academy’s launch coincided with the felicitation of Mango XI, the victorious team in the Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Memorial Cricket Trophy, hosted by the Mango Welfare Association.
Captain Ritir Raj of Mango XI was honored with the prestigious trophy by chief guest Dr. Afroz Shakeel, while Vishal Gorai of Potka, the runner-up team, received his trophy from special guest Tahir Hussain.
Praveen Patel stood out as the tournament’s best player, receiving accolades and a trophy for his exceptional performance across the competition.
The Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Memorial Cricket Trophy showcased the competitive spirit of cricket with 50 matches played over nearly three months.
Dr. Afroz Shakeel, during the ceremony, stressed the vital role of sports in shaping the character and future of youth, aligning with the ideals of Nirmal Mahato.
The establishment of the Rajiv Nair Cricket Academy, named after the distinguished Jharkhand cricket coach and leg spinner Rajiv Nair, signifies a milestone in local sports culture.
Notable figures like Md Rashid, Bajrangi, and Sarabjit Kushwaha were present, underscoring the community’s support for the academy and the sport.
This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the cricketing landscape in Mango, offering young players a platform to hone their skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
