JAMSHEDPUR – Mobashir Rahman, the 26-year-old midfielder, has returned to his hometown club Jamshedpur FC on a two-year contract with a performance-based extension option.

"Rejoining Jamshedpur FC is an honour to represent my motherland again," Rahman stated, expressing his commitment to the club.

Rahman was crucial in Jamshedpur’s ISL Shield-winning campaign in 2021-22, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists.

"I’m thrilled to be back at the Furnace, where my ISL journey began," the midfielder added.

Head Coach Khalid Jamil welcomed Rahman’s return, noting his development and the competition for midfield positions.

"This season presents a crucial opportunity for him to shine," Jamil commented on Rahman’s homecoming.

Rahman’s journey includes stints at Chandigarh Football Academy, Tata Football Academy, and brief spells with East Bengal FC and Chennaiyin FC.

The local player’s return aligns with the club’s focus on nurturing homegrown talent.

Rahman will wear jersey number 15 and join pre-season training in July.

This move reinforces Jamshedpur FC’s commitment to blending experienced players with local talent.
