Elderly man dies, one injured by thunderbolt in Jharkhand
In a tragic incident in Bankhairbani village, Seraikela Kharsawan district, a sudden lightning strike claimed the life of 60-year-old Narayan Patro and left another person injured on Monday evening.
JAMSHEDPUR – A sudden thunderstorm accompanied by a powerful lightning strike brought tragedy to Bankhairbani village in Seraikela Kharsawan district around 5:30 pm on Monday.
During the storm, Narayan Patro, a 60-year-old resident, was fatally struck by lightning, resulting in immediate death due to severe burns.
Another individual sustained injuries in the same incident and was promptly attended to.
Upon notification, police forces quickly arrived at the scene, securing the area and taking the deceased into their care.
The injured party was immediately transported to a local hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.
Authorities have announced that an autopsy will be conducted on Narayan Patro’s body to further investigate the circumstances of his death.
This unfortunate event underscores the dangers posed by severe weather conditions, prompting a renewed focus on safety measures during thunderstorms.
