Blade Man’s Unique Artistry in Jamshedpur

Akhilesh Chaudhary Crafts Statues from Recycled Blades, Sets Record

Jamshedpur’s Akhilesh Chaudhary, known as Blade Man, transforms 600 quintals of used blades into remarkable sculptures, including a statue of Karpuri Thakur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Akhilesh Chaudhary, popularly known as Jamshedpur’s Blade Man, has yet again etched his name in history with his unique artistry.

He began his journey by amassing 600 quintals of used blades from local barber shops, a feat that earned him a place in the India Book of Records.

Evolving his craft, Chaudhary melted down 500 quintals of these blades to create an array of items including a statue of the late Karpuri Thakur, a 100 kg mace symbolizing Hanuman Ji, along with dustbins, dumbbells, and other miscellaneous objects.

This initiative by Chaudhary was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness campaign.

A tragic incident involving a cow that died from ingesting discarded blades further fueled his commitment.

This led to his first project of distributing dustbins across the city’s barber shops to safely dispose of used blades.

His efforts have significantly contributed to the collection of a substantial quantity of blades, which were then repurposed into these artistic creations.

Expressing his gratitude towards the barber community for their contribution of the blades, Chaudhary plans to gift the statue of Karpuri Thakur to them.

Additionally, Hanuman Ji’s mace will be donated to a temple, and the dustbins will be placed in barber shops.

The weightlifting equipment created from the blades will also be put to use, symbolizing the strength and resilience of this unique recycling initiative.
