JAMSHEDPUR – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually flagged off the Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) passenger train service between Tatanagar and Badampahar, marking a significant stride in enhancing regional transportation.

The inaugural ceremony at Tatanagar railway station saw notable attendees, including BJP District President Sudhanshuojha and former MLA Maneka Sardar, showcasing the government’s emphasis on developing robust railway networks for the community’s benefit.

This service, as the fourth local train on this route, is specially timed to support the daily schedules of laborers, students, and villagers, facilitating their evening commutes.

The train departs from Tatanagar at 18:00 hrs, reaching Badampahar at 21:05 hrs, with the return journey starting at 21:15 hrs from Badampahar and arriving back at Tatanagar at 23:30 hrs. This new schedule fills a vital need for efficient and convenient travel options in the region.

Enhanced Accessibility

The 08153/08154 Tatanagar-Badampahar-Tatanagar MEMU service, commencing on March 2, 2024, promises to streamline the commute for residents, stopping at critical junctures like Haludpukur, Sidhirsai, and Rairangpur, among others.

These strategic stoppage points are designed to ensure the train’s accessibility to a broader segment of the population, directly impacting their daily travel efficiency and comfort.

Inaugural Run and Impact

The service’s inaugural run took place on March 1, 2024, with the 08157 Tatanagar-Badampahar MEMU Special leaving Tatanagar at 11:00 hrs and reaching Badampahar at 14:05 hrs.

This momentous launch not only signifies the commencement of regular services but also underlines the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of public transportation and fostering regional connectivity.

The introduction of the MEMU train between Tatanagar and Badampahar is a landmark development in the government’s ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure, ensuring that the benefits of enhanced connectivity reach every corner of the region.
