Wheelchair Aid at Tatanagar Station
Tatanagar railway station enhances passenger service with the addition of a third wheelchair, donated by former CTI Satyendra Kumar.
In a compassionate move, Satyendra Kumar, a retired CTI, donates a wheelchair to Tatanagar ailway station, joining efforts by the Rotary Club to support disabled and elderly passengers.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tatanagar railway station has received a significant boost in its efforts to assist disabled and elderly passengers with the donation of a third wheelchair.
This latest contribution comes from former CTI Satyendra Kumar, also known as Kumar TTE during his service years at the station.
Having retired, Kumar now dedicates his time to public service, joining various organizations to support community needs.
He explained that his 40 years of service among passengers inspired him to contribute in this way, understanding the challenges faced by disabled and elderly travelers.
The donation ceremony was attended by numerous railway officials and staff, including Chief Commercial Inspector Anjani Rai and Station Master JK Verma, highlighting the collective support for this initiative.
This addition to the station’s facilities on March 30, 2024, follows two wheelchairs donated by the Rotary Club on March 27, showcasing a growing community effort to make travel more accessible.
These wheelchairs are available for use by senior citizens, sick, and disabled passengers, reflecting the station’s commitment to inclusive service.
The collaboration of various organizations at Tatanagar station underlines a shared responsibility towards enhancing passenger experiences, especially for those requiring additional support.
