JAMSHEDPUR – The 25th Mangsir Navami Festival organized by the Rani Sati Satsang Samiti, Jugsalai, commenced on Saturday with a grand Kalash Yatra and Mangal Path.

The festivities began early Saturday morning as a Kalash Yatra was taken out from the Rani Sati Dadi Temple in Jugsalai. The procession, featuring 1,100 women carrying sacred Kalash on their heads, moved through Station Road, Gaushala, Naya Bazaar, and returned to the temple. Schoolchildren and a marching band from Ramgarh led the yatra, which also included devotional tableaux and live bhajan performances.

The Kalash Yatra ended at Shri Ram Mandir in Bistupur, where a collective Mangal Path was organized in the afternoon. Renowned local singer Sunita Govind Bhardwaj and Kolkata-based artist Swati Agarwal enchanted devotees with their soulful devotional songs.

"This festival, marking our silver jubilee, is a symbol of faith and unity," said Anil Kumar Agarwal, the committee president. Participants were offered blessings, and Suhag items were distributed among women, along with prasad.

On Sunday, a Bhajan Sandhya will take place at Shri Ram Mandir, featuring well-known artists such as Subham-Rupam from Kolkata, Vansh-Ansh from Faridabad, and Shweta Runjhun from Raniganj.
