Security Forces Dismantle Naxal Camp in West Singhbhum

Anti-Naxal Operations Intensify in Jharkhand’s Dense Forests

In a significant blow to Naxal activities, security forces have successfully dismantled a Naxal camp in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, intensifying operations against the insurgents.

CHAIBASA – In a targeted operation against Naxalites, security forces demolished a camp in the forested hills of Tilaibeda and Sarjamburu in the Goilkera-Tonto area.

The camp was designed to accommodate about 15 insurgents.

Recovered from the site were various items including a Naxalite uniform, a red flag, batteries, wire, medical supplies, footwear, utensils, digging tools, and other daily necessities.

This action follows the tragic killing of Jiten Laguri, a local quack doctor, by Naxalites in Bandabeda village, escalating efforts by the police, Cobra, and CRPF units to clamp down on Naxal activities.

Teams of security forces, responding to the increase in activities by prominent Naxal leaders in Kolhan’s forests, have been conducting comprehensive anti-Naxal operations across the region.

The operation saw hundreds of officers and soldiers mobilizing into the Naxal-affected forests, utilizing information on insurgent activities to strategically enter the area.

The crackdown involves stringent measures against Naxalites in Saranda and Kolhan forests, including patrolling and deployment in strategic locations to prevent further insurgent actions.

Operation Details

Security forces, divided into three groups, entered the forests between Gua and Rowam, crossing the Karo river towards Kolhan forest, based on intelligence about Naxal activities.

Response to Violence

The murder of Jiten Laguri by Naxalites, under suspicion of being a police informer, has prompted intensified operations to secure the area and protect local communities.
