Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce commits to fostering a healthier business climate by addressing the concerns of local distributors against online retail pressures.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a concerted effort to bolster local business interests, the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce held a meeting with the Jamshedpur Distributors Association at their Bistupur auditorium.
The assembly aimed to address the challenges faced by local distributors due to the rise of online retailing.
Chamber President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized the organization’s dedication to nurturing positive relationships among various commercial and industrial entities.
The Chamber’s commitment to creating an improved business environment through collaboration was highlighted during the meeting.
Issues concerning the competitive disadvantages faced by traditional and local distributors against online businesses were brought to the forefront by Gitesh Varshney and Dilip Goyal of the Jamshedpur Distributors Association.
They advocated for equal supply rates for small traders as those offered to large online corporations by manufacturers.
This parity in supply rates is seen as crucial for enabling small retailers to compete more effectively with online giants that entice customers with substantial discounts.
Additionally, tax-related technical issues were discussed, with the Chamber agreeing to relay these concerns to the appropriate departments for resolution.
The meeting was well-attended by prominent members from both organizations, reflecting a strong collective intent to tackle the issues impacting local commerce.
This gathering underscored a community-driven approach to safeguarding the interests of small traders and distributors in Jamshedpur’s evolving market landscape.
