In a harrowing incident, a gas leak led to a fire in Jamshedpur, severely injuring a 60-year-old man.
JAMSHEDPUR – One person was injured severely in a gas leak fire in Jemco Azad Basti. The fire was contained after a lot of effort. The injured is now recuperating in the MGM Hospital.
The blaze that engulfed K Ram Iqbal Singh’s residence in Jamco Azad Basti, Jamshedpur, was swiftly contained with the assistance of the community.
This collective effort prevented the fire from causing further damage. Singh, a car driver by profession, found himself in peril when a domestic gas cylinder leaked, leading to the fire. He was alone at home, attempting to cook, which tragically resulted in severe injuries.
The fire, which broke out on Friday between 11 to 12 noon, saw Singh sustaining burns across his entire body. His wife, recounting the events, explained how the gas cylinder’s leakage set their house ablaze, with Singh suffering the consequences alone.
He was rushed to MGM Hospital by family members, where he is currently receiving care in the burn unit.
This incident highlights the dangers associated with gas leaks and the importance of immediate and effective emergency response. Singh’s condition remains critical.
