Unfortunate Weekend for India: Cyclone Remal, Delhi Children’s Hospital Fire, and Rajkot Game Zone Blaze
Tragedies Unfold as Natural Disaster and Human Negligence Strike Simultaneously
This past weekend, India faced a series of tragic events, including the anticipated Cyclone Remal, a deadly fire at a children’s hospital in Delhi, and a devastating blaze at a game zone in Rajkot. These incidents highlight critical safety issues and the consequences of negligence.
This weekend fate acted differently for India. The weather departments were wary about the cyclone Remal making landfall in India. And kept warning the people to stay safe during this natural phenomenon.
Though what happened were the other two mishaps that made everyone pause for a moment. Both are the Game zone fire and Delhi children hospital fire outbreak happening on Saturday, 25th May.
The Delhi children’s hospital license had expired and it was operating illegally without prior permission.
The youngest child to lose life had not even completed a moon cycle of his/her life. The hospital had permission to work with five beds. It had twelve beds. No emergency doors, lack of fire extinguishers along with the oxygen cylinders presence worsened the situation.
The local residents played the key role in saving the young lives. If it weren’t them, the final outcome would have been more horrifying.
The doctor and the hospital staff were nowhere near when the incident took place. The police caught hold of the doctor after 12 hours of this happening.
The Rajkot Game zone was another sad news that saddened one and many. The reason for the fire being unknown after the early investigation, the large amount of petrol and diesel stocks at the varied places of the area exacerbated the fire.
This incident led to the loss of 28 lives which included 9 children. The company made the visitors sign a mandatory form which kept them beyond the jurisdiction for any kind of loss or damage.
Aren’t these two incidents eye-openers?
How inhuman and negligent to just read and turn the newspaper or scroll the page for something more that would satisfy our appetite to find an interesting news we can talk about. Both the incidents include the death of children which further adds to the misfortune of the nation.
A loss which shouldn’t be taken lightly. These happenings should make us ponder about our choices to get our loved ones treated or spend time in these sophisticated facilities.
The problem with the administration is no step is ever taken until something intolerable happens. What is law and order for if everything can run smoothly without the rules getting followed correctly? Who shall take the responsibility of these kinds of incidents?
