SERAIKELA – Seraikela police uncovered an illegal mini liquor factory in Kamalpur village.
Seraikela-Kharsawan police, under orders from the Superintendent of Police, conducted a series of raids on illegal liquor operations ahead of the upcoming elections.
On October 18, acting on a tip-off, a police team led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) raided a mini liquor factory in Gamharia’s Dudra panchayat area.
The raid resulted in the seizure of a large amount of fake English liquor and materials used for bottling and transporting the alcohol.
According to SDPO Sameer Sawayia, the police also confiscated a pickup vehicle (JH05AT-9923) and a scooter (JH05DN-2385) used for transporting the liquor.
Although two key suspects, Govinda Kewat and Ashit Kewat, managed to flee the scene, police are actively searching for them.
The accused had been running the fake liquor operation from a rented house in the village.
The police have registered a case and initiated further raids to apprehend the absconding individuals.
