Unknown Assailants Execute Birsa Munda and Wife in Dam Side Pandara OP Area

In a chilling episode of violence, Birsa Munda and his wife Soni Munda were fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in Ranchi, marking a gruesome end for the couple with a criminal background.

RANCHI – The quiet of Ranchi was shattered late Wednesday evening when Birsa Munda, a criminal with charges of rape and murder, and his second wife Soni Munda, were brutally murdered in their home in the Pandara OP area, near the dam.

Violent Home Invasion

The incident unfolded as the couple was at home, with three assailants arriving on a motorcycle. Gaining entry under the guise of visitors, they launched a deadly attack on Birsa, hitting him with approximately five bullets. Soni, attempting to emerge from the house, was also targeted and shot by the fleeing criminals.

Community and Police Response

Local residents, upon hearing the gunfire, rushed to the scene, quickly transporting the wounded couple to the hospital. However, medical professionals could only pronounce them dead on arrival.

Birsa Munda’s Criminal Past

Ranchi Police disclosed that Birsa Munda, recently released from jail about a month and a half ago, had a notorious criminal record, with several cases, including rape and murder, registered against him.

Ongoing Investigation

Ranchi City SP Rajkumar Mehta has announced an intensive investigation into the double murder, with police raids underway across the capital in pursuit of the assailants. The police’s dedicated efforts aim to uncover the motives behind the killings and bring the perpetrators to justice, as the community reels from the shock of this violent act.
