ED Raids Hemant Soren Aide in Land Scam
Close Aide of Ex-CM Hemant Soren Raided by ED in Land Case
The Enforcement Directorate intensifies its investigation into the land scam involving former CM Hemant Soren with a raid on a close aide’s residence.
RANCHI – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of Ramesh Gope, a land dealer closely associated with former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in connection with a land scam case.
The raid, which lasted approximately six hours at Gope’s Ayodhyapuri home in Kokar, involved the examination of numerous documents by the ED team, concluding around 2 pm.
This operation is part of a broader investigation into a land scam implicating Soren over the acquisition of 8.5 acres in the Badgai area, leading to his arrest and ongoing interrogation.
ED’s investigation has revealed plans between Soren and architect Vinod Singh to construct a banquet hall on the contested land, supported by evidence from WhatsApp conversations submitted to the court.
The ED’s interrogation of Soren and Singh extends to their exchange of information on immovable properties via WhatsApp, with allegations of Soren’s refusal to sign and acknowledge these chats to conceal property details.
