Guru Gobind Singh’s Birth Anniversary Marked with Devotion in Jamshedpur
Devotees across Jamshedpur unite at Gurudwaras to celebrate the 357th Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh with special prayers, langars, and community spirit.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur witnessed a spiritual and communal harmony as devotees celebrated the 357th ‘Parkash Utsav,’ the birth anniversary of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
The city’s Gurudwaras became centers of devotion, hosting special prayer ceremonies, free langars, and prasad distribution, embodying the spirit of Sikhism.
Distinguished guests, including Health Minister Banna Gupta, MP Bidhyut Baran Mahto, and MLA Saryu Roy, joined in the Nagar Kirtan processions.
Guru Gobind Singh, born on December 22, 1666, in Patna, was a pivotal figure in Sikh history, known for establishing the ‘Khalsa Panth’ in 1699.
His legacy, built on the principles of protecting the oppressed and promoting religious freedom, follows the path of his father, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Renowned Sikh preachers led Gurubani Keertans at various Gurdwaras, imparting the teachings and values of Guru Gobind Singh.
The Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee organized a religious procession through the city, culminating at Sakchi Gurudwara.
Devotees shared their joy in celebrating Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary, while Sikh leader Giani Iqbal Singh emphasized the significance of the annual procession and prayers.
The celebration also featured ‘Gatka,’ a traditional Sikh martial art, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
All 33 Gurudwaras in the district were adorned with festive decorations, hosting congregations and langars, reflecting the joyous spirit of the occasion.
Guru Gobind Singh’s establishment of the Khalsa in 1699 marked a transformative era in Sikhism, creating a community of faithful warriors.
Sakchi Gurudwara hosted a two-day congregation, recognizing participants of the religious procession, further highlighting the communal and spiritual richness of the celebrations.
