Drowning at Kapali Ghat Claims Two Lives, Community Mourns Loss

The tragic drowning incident at Kapali Sapra has escalated to a grim conclusion, claiming the lives of two young friends.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Kapali Sapra drowning incident has taken a heart-wrenching turn, with the death toll rising to two after Karanveer Singh succumbed during treatment at TMH.

In a harrowing turn of events, four youths from Anil Sur Path under Kadma police station faced tragedy while bathing in the Swarnarekha River. Two, including Karanveer Singh and Abhimanyu, tragically drowned.

The other two youths, part of the group, were fortunately rescued by local residents. All four were from the Kadma and Ramnagar area and had ventured out for a picnic.

The incident unfolded at Sapra Ghat, where the group, under the guise of a picnic, went for a swim in the Swarnarekha River. The swift currents of the river swept away all four, resulting in this tragedy.

In a desperate bid to save his friend, Adarsh Pandey, aged 14, jumped into the river after Karanveer Singh started drowning. Sadly, both were overwhelmed by the deep waters.

Fishermen and locals promptly intervened, pulling both youths from the water and rushing them to MGM Hospital. Adarsh was declared deceased upon arrival, while Karanveer was referred to TMH, where he later passed away.

Family members of the victims, upon learning of the incident, rushed to MGM Hospital, where they were met with the devastating news. The community, stricken by grief, mourns the loss of these young lives in such a tragic accident.
