JAMSHEDPUR – Two talented athletes from Kerala Public School Mango have embarked on their journey to a national sports competition.
Sheikh Mohtasim and Adnan, both 10th-grade students, left for Gorakhpur on Thursday.
Moreover, they will represent their school in the National Handball Championship.
The prestigious tournament is set to take place on October 5 and 6.
On the other hand, KPS Mango is not the only school sending participants to the event.
Students from various other schools in Jamshedpur will also compete in the championship.
Furthermore, the tournament features two age categories: Under-17 and Under-19.
These categories allow for fair competition among players of similar age groups.
Meanwhile, the journey to Gorakhpur was organized under the aegis of Beldih Church School.
This collaboration highlights the spirit of unity among Jamshedpur’s educational institutions.
However, the specific number of total participants from the city remains undisclosed.
The National Handball Championship provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
In addition, it offers an opportunity for students to gain valuable competitive experience.
Participation in such events can significantly boost the confidence of young players.
Consequently, it may inspire more students to take up handball and other sports.
"This tournament is a great opportunity for our city’s young talents," a sports enthusiast commented.
Besides promoting individual growth, such events contribute to the overall sports culture in Jamshedpur.
The city has a rich tradition of nurturing sports talents across various disciplines.
Handball, though less prominent than some other sports, has a dedicated following in the region.
This national-level participation may help elevate the sport’s profile in Jamshedpur and beyond.
