Vibrant Ceremony Closes Jamshedpur Women’s University’s First Sports Meet

Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated the conclusion of its first annual sports meet with a grand closing ceremony at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

JAMSHEDPUR – The inaugural annual sports meet of Jamshedpur Women’s University concluded with a grand ceremony at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday.

The event was marked by the presence of Group DIG CRPF Jamshedpur, Sanjay Kumar, as the chief guest, and Jiren Topno from Tata Steel as the guest of honour.

The closing session began with a traditional tribal dance, welcoming the esteemed guests.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta, along with Registrar Dr. Rajendra Jaiswal, DSW Dr. Kiswara Ara, and Sports and Cultural Chairman Dr. Sanatan Deep, attended the ceremony.

Dr. Sanatan Deep, in his welcome address, appreciated the participants for their performances and thanked Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta for her support.

The dignitaries received shawls, momentum, and flower pots as tokens of appreciation.

A yoga demonstration by the university’s students highlighted the event.

Sanjay Kumar discussed the vital role of sports in students’ lives, reminiscing about his own sporting interests during his youth.

Jiren Topno emphasized the connection between sports skills and life, particularly the impact on mental fitness.

Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta, in her presidential address, applauded the committee and Dr. Sanatan Deep for organizing the successful sports meet.

Rukhsar Khanam received the Best Athlete and Champion award, among other winners like Sweta Kumari Mahto, Jaya Kumari, Aditi Kumari, and Ekta Sharma.

A special fast walking race for teaching and non-teaching staff was also a highlight, with winners acknowledged by the Vice Chancellor.

Registrar Dr. Rajendra Jaiswal concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all involved in the event.

The sports meet ended with the lowering of the university’s Sports flag and the National Anthem.
