Corona claims 2 more lives in Jharkhand on Wednesday, total deaths 1,027 now

223 new cases detected, 185 cured too

Ranchi: In a shocking and sudden spurt in the number of deaths caused by coronavirus in Jharkhand, 2 deaths were reported in the state on Wednesday taking the total death toll to 1027.

On Wednesday, 2 deaths have been reported in the state due to coronavirus showing a disturbing sign for the state, even while a more infectious UK-origin variant of corona has been reported in India for the first time.

On Wednesday, both the deaths were reported from Ranchi.

The recovery rate in the state is at 97.67%, while the mortality rate is at 0.89%.

As per official data, 223 new cases have been detected in the state on Wednesday, taking the number of total infections to 1,14,873. Out of these, 1,12,206 have already been cured. On Wednesay too, 185 patients have been cured and discharged.

For now, the state has 1,640 active cases of coronavirus infection, while the deaths have reached the figure of 1,027.

Till date, 47,83,653 samples have been tested in the district.
