Hemant Soren’s Next Move: 5% Job Reservation for Agitators’ Families
Jharkhand government may introduce a 5% job reservation for families of agitators, enhancing inclusive employment practices.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand is all set to take a significant step by introducing a 5% horizontal reservation in state government jobs for dependents of agitators.
JMM sources said that this move reflects the government’s dedication to recognizing the contributions of those who have protested for various causes.
The reservation, which targets class III and IV government positions, may be designed as a one-time benefit for each protesting family.
To facilitate this initiative, the Jharkhand Reservation in Vacancies in Posts and Services Act of 2001 is undergoing necessary amendments.
In a parallel move, the government has also decided to extend a similar 5% horizontal reservation to women, further advocating for inclusive employment opportunities.
JMM sources confirmed that this dual approach signifies the government’s commitment to supporting diverse groups within the community, addressing both the needs of protestors’ families and advancing gender equality in the workforce.
