Tata Steel West Bokaro Division Hosts Tripartite Safety Meet with DGMS and Union
Tata Steel, DGMS and Union Discuss Opencast Mining Technologies and Workplace Supervision in Ranchi Meeting
In a tripartite meeting, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division, DGMS and Union focus on technologies in opencast mining and enhancing workplace safety.
RANCHI – Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division, in alliance with the Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS) and Union, convened a comprehensive tripartite committee meeting at Hotel BNR Chanakya, Ranchi today.
The meeting was organized to facilitate dialogue among unions of Tata Steel’s three divisions – OMQ Division, West Bokaro Division, and FAMD, and their respective locations.
Chaired by SD Chiddarwar, Deputy Director General (SEZ), Additional Charge, and DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials, Tata Steel, the meeting was a platform for discussion on technologies employed in opencast mining and strategies to amplify workplace supervision.
Participants also proffered invaluable suggestions in these domains.
Among the Tata Steel seniors present were a litany of General Managers, Chiefs of Operations, and Chiefs of Safety, representing various divisions and mines under Tata Steel’s umbrella.
Also in attendance were esteemed officials from DGMS, covering the Ranchi and Chaibasa Regions, among others.
Union representation at the meeting included presidents of various workers unions related to Tata Steel’s mining operations, rounding off the 180-strong participant list.
The tripartite committee serves as an interactive forum, allowing stakeholders to express their views and concerns regarding a safe and efficient work milieu.
Tata Steel iterated its commitment to the welfare and safety of its workforce and welcomed the occasion to engage in consequential discussions with the DGMS and Union representatives.
The conglomerate is optimistic about ongoing collaboration with all stakeholders to secure a safe and prosperous future for everyone involved in the mining sector.
