Appeal Overruled in Rs 9 Lakh Cheque Dispute

Judge Anil Kumar Mishra Upholds Acquittal in High-Profile Case

District Judge Rejects Appeal Due to Insufficient Evidence

JAMSHEDPUR – The appeal lodged by Sanjeev Kumar Bhagat challenging the acquittal of Shriram Singh in a Rs 9 lakh cheque dispute has been rejected by District cum Sessions Judge-1 Anil Kumar Mishra.

Earlier, First Class Judicial Magistrate Utkarsh Jain had acquitted Singh on November 10, 2023, citing a lack of conclusive evidence.

Bhagat, residing in Mango, contested this verdict, leading to the recent appeal hearing.

During the proceedings, Advocate Om Prakash defended Singh, resulting in the appeal’s dismissal.

Reflecting on the outcome, a legal expert remarked, “While the appelant must be disappointed, he  must accept the court’s decision.”
