Khelo India-Backed Event at JRD Sports Complex Targets National Exposure for Emerging Players

Jharkhand State Basketball Association to host the Under-17 Asmita Women’s League in Jamshedpur, offering a national platform for top performers.

JAMSHEDPUR – The courts are set, and the hoop is waiting.

The third Under-17 Asmita Women’s Basketball League 2023 is ready to tip-off at JRD Sports Complex here in Jamshedpur.

Organized by the Jharkhand State Basketball Association under the banner of Khelo India Women’s League, the event comes with the oversight of the Basketball Federation of India and the Sports Authority of India.

It may be added here that the Khelo India Women’s League has been renamed "Asmita Women’s League" to reflect resilience, determination, and achievement in women athletes, showcasing their aspirations in the sporting arena.

The league, starting on 3rd September, will see participation from 15 to 20 teams and will feature a total of 30 matches.

It’s not just a game, but a platform.

The league serves as a stepping stone for young talent, as top-performing players will earn an opportunity to showcase their skills at the national level.

With national exposure on the line, the league is expected to draw a lot of attention, and stakes are high for the young hoopsters.

The event aims not only to entertain but also to identify and nurture the young talents who could become the future stars of Indian basketball.
