JAMSHEDPUR – The Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand held its annual general assembly, announcing plans for a major state-level meet in 2024.
The gathering commenced with a solemn tribute to Late Shanti Mukt Barla, a former international master athlete.
Secretary SK Tomar presented the association’s annual achievements during the meeting.
Moreover, he revealed plans for the fourth state-level master athletics meet in November 2024.
The event is expected to draw over a thousand master athletes to JRD Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, the assembly agreed to organize a separate cross-country race this year.
Former Deputy Development Commissioner B Maheshwari attended as the chief guest.
In addition, Sanjay Singh, Vice President of Tata Workers Union, graced the event as a special guest.
The assembly honored former senior master athletes with bouquets.
Furthermore, B Maheshwari pledged full support to strengthen the organization in his address.
Notably, the meeting unanimously appointed Arif Imam as the Chief Patron of the state organization.
Indrajit Singh honored Imam, an international athlete trainer, with flowers and a garland.
The assembly also provided a platform for athletes to share their suggestions.
On the other hand, H Ghosh delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion.
Key contributors ensured the event’s success, including Indrajit Singh and SK Tomar.
Additionally, a large number of master male and female athletes participated in the meeting.
The association’s efforts aim to bolster Jharkhand’s representation at the national level.
