Kolhan DIG Reviews Progress in Gamharia Jewelry Shop Loot Case

Seraikela’s Gamharia jewelry robbery is under intense scrutiny by Kolhan DIG and SIT, with hopes of cracking the case soon.

JAMSHEDPUR – Five days after the incident of broad day robbery at Ishwarlal Jewelers located in Gamharia under Adityapur police station area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Sunday, the police are still empty handed.

On Thursday, Kolhan DIG Ajay Linda reached Adityapur police station to investigate the case and review the progress report.

During this, SP Dr. Vimal Kumar, SDPO Harvinder Singh, Chandil SDPO Sanjay Kumar Singh and all the officers involved in SIT and Jamshedpur police were also present.

Increasing the scope of investigation, SIT and Technical Cell have been formed.

The DIG said that the progress report would be given to him every day by the team.

The DIG has said that the culprits would be arrested soon, indicating that some clues have been found.

At present, the solving the jewelry loot remains a big challenge for the district police.

It may be added that on last Sunday, armed criminals posing as customers looted about 20-25 lakh jewelry in Ishwarlal Jewelers located at Lal Building Chowk.

After which SIT has been formed under the leadership of SDPO on the instructions of SP, but the SIT has not made much of a headway.

In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how long the SIT formed by the DIG takes to crack the case.

The Seraikela-Kharsawan district police are pursuing the suspects in the recent Adityapur jewelry store theft with vigor.

Kolhan Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajay Linda presided over a review meeting on Thursday to evaluate the status of the case as investigations encountered obstacles despite the creation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

East Singhbhum police are now a part of the joint efforts in an attempt to broaden the scope of the probe.

The review meeting was presided by the DIG Ajay Linda. He spoke to media at the Adityapur police station about the difficulties in the investigation.

He noted that while there is still much unknown about the case, the culprits’ professionalism clearly implies that they are outsiders.

The perpetrators’ cunning removal of the DVR from the CCTV camera has hampered the investigation, but the DIG is still confident about making progress.

According to Linda, the Jamshedpur police have been asked to contribute their knowledge to the investigation by using their technological skills to help elucidate the complexities of the case.

The Kolhan DIG confidently said, "We are optimistic of cracking the case soon," displaying the will of the law enforcement forces to apprehend the offenders.

Three thieves from a group carried off a well planned theft at Ishwarlal Jewellers, which is located in the busy Gamharia market and is under the control of the Adityapur police station, in the morning of August 6.

The thieves cunningly urged the store owner to display jewelry meant for a daughter’s upcoming wedding while wearing masks and seeming to be customers.

After choosing ornaments from the display cases, the thieves deliberately overpowered the store owner and salespeople and held them at gunpoint.

They made off with an incredible collection of gold jewelry worth over Rs 25 lakh in a quick and well-planned action.

The brazenness and accuracy of the crime have surprised local officials, sparking a thorough multi-agency response.

The search for the culprits becomes more arduous thanks to the assistance of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district police, the East Singhbhum police, and the technical cell of Jamshedpur.
