JAMSHEDPUR – A five-year-old girl died in Chaibasa after becoming trapped inside a parked car where she had entered with another child to escape the scorching heat.
A tragic incident occurred in Tungri locality under the Sadar police station area of Chaibasa on Thursday. The children entered a car parked beside the road near Green Flat.
However, they reportedly became trapped inside the vehicle. Subsequently, oxygen levels inside the closed car dropped significantly.
The deceased was identified as Ishani Gop, aged five. Meanwhile, another child, Ankit Gop, survived the incident.
Both children were residents of the SPG Mission Compound area. They had reportedly left home for school in Tungri.
However, the afternoon heat was intense. Therefore, the children entered the parked vehicle and sat inside.
According to reports, Ankit somehow managed to get out. Meanwhile, Ishani remained trapped inside the car.
Subsequently, the child lost consciousness after prolonged suffocation. The incident remained unnoticed for some time.
Later, Ankit returned home and informed family members. Thereafter, relatives rushed to the spot.
However, Ishani’s condition had already become critical. Family members immediately removed her from the vehicle.
She was then taken to the Sadar Hospital in Chaibasa. However, doctors declared her dead upon examination.
The incident sparked widespread concern across the locality. Meanwhile, residents expressed grief over the child’s death.
Such incidents have repeatedly highlighted the dangers of leaving children inside closed vehicles during hot weather. Temperatures inside parked cars can rise rapidly within minutes, creating life-threatening conditions.
