JAMSHEDPUR – A suspected purse snatcher was caught by residents and beaten by an angry crowd in Parsudih after allegedly targeting a woman in Shankarpur.
A purse-snatching incident was reported from Parsudih police station area. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Shankarpur.
The victim was identified as Sunita Verma. She is a resident of Shankarpur Gobra Tola.
According to her statement, she was heading towards Vidyasagar Pally. Meanwhile, a youth allegedly approached from behind.

The woman identified the accused as Suraj Srivastava alias Markandeya. He is reportedly a resident of Shankarpur.
Subsequently, residents caught the suspect near Gandhi Maidan. They allegedly recovered the victim’s mobile phone during a search.
Meanwhile, anger spread among local residents after the incident. The accused was allegedly assaulted by members of the crowd.
