SCCI Expresses Relief Over Six-Month Extension of Jharkhand’s Tax Settlement Scheme ‘Kar Samadhan Yojana’
The extension of Jharkhand’s tax settlement scheme Kar Samadhan Yojana has been lauded by the Chamber, which believes that it will allow more traders to reap its benefits.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) has expressed satisfaction over the six-month extension of the Jharkhand government’s tax settlement scheme.
Chamber President Vijay Anand Moonka and Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia stated that they had been striving to prolong the scheme, originally introduced by the Jharkhand government in January to resolve outstanding state tax arrears, which expired on June 30th.
The Chamber’s goal was to expand the scheme to allow more traders to benefit. On Wednesday, the government approved the demand of traders across the state, issuing a notification extending the tax settlement scheme for another six months.
Chamber’s Secretary (Finance and Taxation) Piyush Kumar affirmed that the tax settlement scheme has benefited thousands of traders across the state. However, he highlighted several pending cases at the appeal or revision stage. He urged the department to make immediate decisions in such cases to facilitate tax resolution for the traders.
