Utkal Express operation disrupted due to heavy rain and waterlogging, causing trouble for thousands of commuters across nine states.
JAMSHEDPUR – Due to heavy rainfall, water has accumulated on the railway tracks at Haridwar, Motichur, Muradnagar, and other stations, leading to the cancellation of the Utkal Express from Puri to Rishikesh on 14th and 15th July.
The Utkal Express did not depart for Puri from Rishikesh on Thursday, causing commuting issues for thousands of passengers across nine states.
Earlier this week, incessant rains in Punjab led to the cancellation of the Amritsar-Tatanagar Jallianwala Bagh Express train on Wednesday.
The Jammu-Tatanagar Express was redirected and is currently operating from the Khurja station in Uttar Pradesh.
The operation of the Mumbai Duronto Express has also been affected due to the washing away of ballast on the Mumbai railway line, resulting in delayed schedules.
In the meantime, the train operations on the Howrah-Mumbai route are still not normalized.
The delay is so severe that the night trains are reaching Tatanagar in the morning as they are being rescheduled to depart from Howrah.
The trains coming from Mumbai and Pune are also reaching Tatanagar later than usual, causing inconvenience to the passengers.
