Saryu Roy Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Delay in Moharda Drinking Water Project
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has expressed concern over the delay in phase 2 of the Moharda drinking water delivery project, pushing for swift appointment of a consultant.
JAMSHEDPUR – The delay in commencing the second phase of the Moharda drinking water delivery project has drawn the attention and criticism of Saryu Roy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Jamshedpur East.
Roy has raised concerns about the project stagnation even two months after the decision was made to commence work, attributing the delay to the fact that a project consultant has yet to be hired.
In an attempt to speed up the project’s progress, the MLA has communicated with the Secretary of the Urban Development Department.
In a written letter, Roy urged the department to expedite the appointment of a consultant for the drinking water project.
This is not his first interaction concerning the matter, as he had previously held discussions with the Project Director of the Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (JUDCO).
A meeting in May of this year had decided to prioritize eight significant issues, including the water supply situation in Moharda.
However, according to the MLA, apart from one or two matters, all remain untouched.
The JNAC special officer has reportedly informed Roy that representatives from Tata Steel will be meeting with UISL on July 12 at 11 am, promising further action in this regard.
