Massive Blaze Ravages Furniture Shop and Garage, Causing Major Losses
A devastating fire in Sido-Kanhu Basti, Jamshedpur, destroys a furniture shop and a garage, with losses estimated at Rs 7-8 lakh.
JAMSHEDPUR – A major fire broke out early Sunday morning in Sido-Kanhu Basti, Jamshedpur, engulfing a furniture shop and a garage near the HP Petrol Pump.
The blaze, which reportedly started between 2 to 3 AM, resulted in the complete destruction of both establishments.
Shopkeeper Sujit Kumar reported a substantial financial loss, estimating damages around Rs 7 to 8 lakh.
Local residents, witnessing the flames, promptly alerted the police and fire department, leading to a swift response.
Two fire engines, one from Tata Steel and another from Jharkhand Fire Service, were quickly dispatched to the scene to combat the inferno.
After approximately two hours of intense effort, the firefighters managed to control the fire, preventing further spread and damage.
The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, with investigations likely to follow to determine its origin.
In addition to the fire services, PCR team and Tiger Mobile personnel were also present on-site, contributing to the emergency response.
Before the arrival of the fire brigade, locals attempted to douse the flames themselves but were unsuccessful.
